As two South Asian siblings — one in recovery, one who’s never drunk — we created Nekta because we couldn’t find drinks that reflected us. Drinks that felt grown-up, tasted incredible, and didn’t come with a side of shame.
In both Punjabi and British culture, alcohol is everywhere. It is a marker of success, confidence, masculinity, even love. But what happens when you don’t drink?
You’re left out. Or forced to pretend. We wanted more. Something real.
Something rooted in who we are and how we connect.
Nekta is inspired by the Punjabi word Ekta, it stands for unity.
Unity between cultures. Between drinkers and non-drinkers. Between who we are and how we celebrate.
